A 54-year-old Andover driver was seriously injured when his vehicle overturned on Interstate 495 in Haverhill Thursday afternoon. Traffic backed up for miles as state police closed all northbound lanes at 3:14 to allow a medical helicopter to land.
State police are not releasing the name of the injured man, who was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston. Two lanes were opened at 3:27 and all lanes by 3:46, state police said.
