Mary Margaret ‘Molly’ Gogas, 94, 40-Year Western Electric Worker

Mary Margaret “Molly” Gogas, 94, a lifelong resident of Haverhill, passed away with her family by her side on Thursday, April 23, at the Holy Family Hospital at Merrimack Valley after a lengthy illness.

Born in Haverhill, she was the daughter of the late, George S. and Mary B. (Collins) Gogas. Educated in Haverhill, she was a graduate of St.James Grammar School and St. James High School, class of 1938.

Gogas was employed as a layout operator for the Western Electric Corporation in North Andover throughout her entire career, serving the company for 40 years, retiring in 1981. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, and summers at the cottage she shared with her sisters at Hampton Beach.

Gogas is survived by her two brothers, George Gogas, of Haverhill, and Joseph A. Gogas, of Plaistow, N.H., and her sister with whom she lived, Anna E. Gogas, of Haverhill. Gogas was predeceased by her sisters, Kathleen T. Gogas, Frances J. McGrath, and her brother, William G. “Gerry” Gogas. She also leaves many beloved nieces and nephews, William “Jay” Gogas, of Hampton Beach, N.H., Shawn M. Gogas, of Alexandria, Virg., Christopher “Chris” Gogas, of St Cloud, Fla.; Michele M. Gogas, of Haverhill, Joseph Gogas II, of Toronto, Canada, Cheryl Gogas, of Plaistow, N.H., and Cheyenne Silva, of Haverhill, Molly Elizabeth Gogas, of Plaistow, N.H., Jonathan Gogas, of Plaistow, N.H., and several other nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are invited to attend funeral services for Gogas Wednesday morning at 11 a.m. at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St.Haverhill. A calling hour will be held prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow at St.JamesCemetery, Primrose St.Haverhill.
