Margaret Annette (Cashman) Perri, 93, World War II Veteran

Margaret Annette (Cashman) Perri, 93, of Atkinson, N.H., formerly of Haverhill, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 20, at Portsmouth Regional Hospital.

Born in Haverhill, she was the daughter of Howard J. and Alice M. (Bouchard) Cashman. She attended Haverhill Schools and was a graduate of Haverhill High School, class of 1939. She continued her education at the Salem, Mass., Hospital Nursing Program and received her degree as a registered nurse. She was employed at the hospital as an operating room nurse and in April, 1945, she enlisted into the U.S. Army to serve her country. A World War II veteran, she proudly served until July, 1946, and was honorably discharged.

She married Peter R. Perri and began her new career as a homemaker. Moving to Atkinson, N.H., they made the rural community their new home. Her family was the center of her life.

The widow of Peter R. Perri, who died in 1977, she leaves five children; Cynthia A. LeTourneau and her husband, Paul, of Durham, N.H., Peter F. Perri and his wife, Lynn McCarthy, of Berwick, Maine, M. Christina Perri, of Portsmouth, N.H., Mark R. Perri and his life partner, Joni Belfiore, of Atkinson, N.H., and Philip N. Perri and his wife, Yvette, of Round Hill, Virg.; granddaughter Lia Belfiore; sister, Mary Alice Custeau, of Haverhill; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Howard and William Cashman.

Private committal services with Military Honors were held on Friday at the Atkinson Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. Haverhill.
