Nina C. (Hansbrough) McCosh, 77, IRS Tax Examiner

Nina C. (Hansbrough) McCosh, 77, a resident of Haverhill since 1970, died Wednesday morning, April 22, at her home.

Born and raised in Paragould, Ark., and then in Columbia, Mo., daughter of the late Lewis D. and Vivian P. (Mayo) Hansbrough, McCosh graduated from Columbia High School with the Class of 1955. She went on to receive an associate’s degree in 1957 from Christian College in Columbia, Mo. and later her bachelor’s from the University of Missouri in 1959.

McCosh was employed as a tax examiner for the Internal Revenue Service for 30 years until her retirement in 2002.

An avid Boston Celtics fan, McCosh enjoyed attending the New Hampshire Highland Games and Festival.

She is survived by her two sons, Jonathan G. McCosh and his wife Kristin of Raymond, N.H., and Stephen B. McCosh of Haverhill; daughter, Kelsey McCosh of Haverhill; brother, David L. Hansbrough of Georgia; three grandchildren, Janielle McCosh, Jessalyn McCosh, and Jonathan McCosh; and two nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend McCosh’s life celebration Sunday, April 26 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill, MA. Her memorial service will take place Wednesday, April 29, 7 p.m., at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 471 Main Street, Haverhill, MA.
