Police Arrest Two 18-Year-Olds on Assault Charges

Two Haverhill men are due to be arraigned in court after their arrests by police in connection with an altercation over the weekend.

According to Haverhill police, Dalvin F. Andino, 18, of Haverhill and Gilbert Vasquez, 18, of Haverhill, were arrested at 1:45 p.m., Saturday, at 4 Temple St. Each is charged with two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Haverhill police also report five minutes later nearby, Lawrence Green, 36, listed as homeless, was arrested at 1:50 p.m., at the intersection of Central and Beacon Streets. He was charged with two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and with two counts of intimidation of a witness.

In other police news, a Lawrence man is facing various drug and motor vehicle charges after his arrest in Haverhill Sunday evening. Haverhill Police report James A. Marr, 44, of Lawrence, was arrested at 5:50 p.m., Sunday, at 73 White St. He is charged with possession of a class B substance, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and a stop sign violation. Marr was also taken into custody on two outstanding warrants for possession of a class B substance, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration and with not having a license in possession

Also, A Haverhill man is due in court to face a drug dealing charge after his arrest Friday by Haverhill Police. Joel Gomez, 31, of Haverhill, was arrested at 7 p.m., Friday, on Vine Street. He was charged with distribution of a class A substance.
