Methuen Looks for Knife-Wielding Robbery Suspect

Police in Methuen are asking the public’s help to identify a suspect who robbed two neighborhood stores, one at knifepoint, within a three-hour span Sunday morning.

Surveillance videos released by Methuen Police show a Hispanic male, approximately 6’1” in height, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a black mask and latex gloves, with tattoos on his hands and first entering CVS Pharmacy, 76 Swan St. about 8 a.m., Sunday.

“The suspect handed the cashier money for the candy. When she opened the cash register, the suspect reached over the counter and into the drawer and took some money from the register. The male subject then fled the store on foot and was last seen running towards Conduit St.,” a Methuen Police spokesperson said.

About three hours later, the same suspect brandished a knife as he took cash from a register at Family Dollar store, 40 Jackson St., Methuen.
