Frances M. Leighton, 88, Nurse’s Aide

Frances M. Leighton, 88, of Haverhill, died Monday evening, April 13, at Wingate at Haverhill.

She was born in Haverhill, April 22, 1926, daughter of the late George F. and Mabel (Scott) Jones. Educated in the Haverhill school system, Leighton attended Haverhill High School. She was employed as a nurse’s aide at Griffin White Home and Baker Katz Nursing Home, Haverhill, for many years. She was also a dental assistant for Dr. William Porell. Leighton was a longtime member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Haverhill, and its St. Margaret’s Guild and Women’s Auxiliary.

Her survivors include four nieces, Evelyn Jackson-Cole of Salem, N.H., Dolly Nassif of Haverhill, Judy Nassif of Haverhill, and Nicole Curcio of Nashua, N.H.; two nephews, Charles Grandmaisson of Bradford, and Brian Grandmaisson of Haverhill; and four grandnieces and three grandnephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation Friday, April 17 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill, followed by a funeral service at 2:30 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill.
