UPDATED: David S. Crook, 63, Commercial Bus Salesman

David S. Crook, 63, of Groveland passed away Friday, April 10, at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center with his loving family by his side.

He was born in Haverhill March 5, 1952, son of Dr. Douglas V. Crook and Lori Wagner Crook.

He graduated from Pentucket Regional High school, class of 1970. He continued his education at the Tilton School and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from New England College, class of 1975. He spent most of his professional career as a commercial bus salesman in the New England area. He was well respected in his industry and made many profound friendships with his colleagues over the years. He was also a member of the Haverhill Exchange Club and president from 1979 to 1980.

He was a selfless, sincere man and a dedicated father. He was always so proud of his three sons and had a significant impact on many of their friends, as well. Whether it was listening to old records or going to concerts, David thoroughly enjoyed music. As a motorcycle enthusiast, David competitively raced motocross in his early years and enjoyed cruisin’ on his Harley later in life. Riding was always one of his greatest passions. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends at their summer home in Mattapoisett.

Crook is survived by his long time best friend and partner, Kate Gardner of Holyoke; mother Lori Crook of Groveland; Dr. Douglas V. Crook and his wife Lorraine Christensen Crook, of Kingston, N.H.; sons, Douglas S. Crook and his wife Alana of Haverhill, Jonathan Crook and his wife Jacqueline of Newton, N.H., Spencer Crook and Laurie Angeloni of Bradford, and their mother Roberta Small Crook of Bradford; sister, Deborah Crook and her husband John “Turk” Montepare of Breckenridge, Colo.; brother, Thomas Crook of Groveland; as well as his granddaughters, Olivia, Sophia, and Stella; his niece, nephews, and many cousins and friends.

Celebration of Crook’s Life will be Saturday afternoon, April 18, at Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 South Main St. (route 125), Bradford, from 1 to 4 p.m. Memorial Service will begin at 4 p.m.. Courtesy transportation will be provided on request by calling Patrick Driscoll at (978) 374-0000.
