Mary F. (True) Trafton, 81, Former Bakery Worker

Mary F. (True) Trafton, 81, of Haverhill passed away Saturday, April 11 at Lahey Clinic in Burlington.

She was born in Haverhill Feb. 16, 1934, daughter of the late David and Laura (Deacon) True. Trafton was a graduate of Haverhill High School and was employed at the former Schwartz Shoe and later the Market Basket Bakery from which she retired. She loved cheering on her children and grandchildren as they played sports. She bowled for many years but one of her favorite teams was the one she formed with her grandchildren. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching all of Boston’s sports teams. Trafton also enjoyed trips to the beach and Mohegan Sun and especially enjoyed family vacations to Alaska, Colorado, Lake George, Lake Winnipesaukee and North Conway.

She was the wife of the late Roger Trafton who passed in 1992 and is survived by her children, Kathleen and her husband Robert Bergeron of Haverhill, Patricia Trafton and her wife Brenda Quimby of Haverhill, Roger Trafton and his wife Anne of Salem, N.H.; her five grandchildren Brian Dinges, Lisa Pepin, Matthew Trafton, Allison Trafton and Hannah Trafton; her two great grandchildren Michael and Ashley Dinges; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her calling hours Tuesday, April 14 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St. Haverhill. Her funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill. Contributions in her memory may be made to the donor’s choice.
