Donald J. Lovely, 83, Korean War Veteran

Donald J. Lovely, 83, of Haverhill, passed away Tuesday morning, April 8, at the Penacook Place Nursing Home.

He was born in Haverhill Dec. 26, 1931, son of the late Raymond F. and Mary E. (Hefferan) Lovely. Lovely was educated in the Haverhill school system and graduated from St. James High School. He earned his bachelor’s from Merrimack College and served our country in the Navy during the Korean War. He was employed for many years as a salesman. He was also employed as a driver for Boston Coach. He enjoyed golfing in his free time.

Lovely was predeceased by his brother Louis J. Lovely. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Maureen B. (Demarais) Lovely, and his siblings, Raymond F. Lovely Jr. and his wife Mary of Atkinson, N.H.., Robert E. Lovely of Salisbury, Md., and Catherine E. Hogan and her husband Wayne of Bradford, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Lovely’s family extends their appreciation to Dave Corthell and Carolyn Wennerberg. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Monday, April 13, at noon, in Sacred Hearts Church, 165 South Main St. Bradford. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Bradford. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association 480 Pleasant Street Watertown, MA 02472.
