Phillip Wightman, 85, World War II Veteran

Phillip Wightman, 85, of Bradford, passed away Tuesday, April 7, at the Oxford Home, Haverhill.

He was born in Haverhill Sept. 11, 1929. He married Maria T. Camilo Nov. 14th 1955. He was employed in the Haverhill school system till he retired. He was a World War II veteran with the Air Force and in later years a member of the VFW Lorraine Post 29 and the former VFW Post 675 in Bradford.

Wightman was predeceased by his wife Maria Wightman who passed away in 2012. Wightman is survived by his sons Phillip A. Wightman Jr. of Newmarket, N.H., and Gary A. Wightman of Bradford; five grandchildren, Kristina Madera, Lisa D’Agostino, Rebecca Diaz, Kendra Wightman and Joshua Wightman; 10 great grandchildren, Jenica, Kaleb, Josiah, Kadence, Ashlynn, Kyleigh, Jackson, Haleena, Mailani and Daniel; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his funeral service Saturday, April 11 at 11 at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St. Haverhill. Interment will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery, Bradford. Calling hours at the Funeral Home are Friday, April 10, from 4 to 7 p.m.. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a local veteran’s organization of the donor’s choice.
