Chief Calls Methuen Murder ‘Isolated Incident’

A homicide investigation is ongoing in Methuen for what police describe as “an isolated incident” Monday in a residence on Phillips Street.

Methuen officers and detectives were joined on the scene by Massachusetts State Police and investigators with Essex District Attorney’s Jonathan Blodgett’s office, according to Methuen Police Chief Joseph Solomon.

“There is no danger to the public and this is considered a targeted Incident,” Solomon said in a statement.

A Methuen Police spokesperson reported several vehicles were towed from a parking lot behind a dwelling at 5-7 Phillips St. A Methuen K-9 unit was also brought in as part of the investigation.

No further details were available by deadline. WHAV will provide updates as they become available from Methuen police.
