Police: Man Uses Roll of Quarters as Weapon

A Methuen man was due to be arraigned in court on an assault charge after his arrest by Haverhill Police early Monday morning.

Police report David R. Batchelder, 37, of Methuen, was arrested at 2:06 a.m., Monday, at 12 Lincoln St. He is charged with assault and battery to a witness with a dangerous weapon, a roll of quarters.

In other police news, a Haverhill man was arrested Monday morning on various charges including drug possession and theft. Daniel J. Cormier, 36, of Haverhill, was arrested on four outstanding warrants at 11:15 a.m., Monday, at 40E Forest Acres Drive. He is charged with operating a motor vehicle without a license, receiving stolen property, possession of a class E substance and larceny.

A 13 year old Haverhill minor was arrested Monday on charges in connection with an alleged disturbance at a school. According to Haverhill police, the male suspect was arrested at 1:10 p.m., Monday, on Primrose Street He is charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, malicious destruction of property and disturbing a school assembly.

A Haverhill woman is facing charges of assault and vandalism after her arrest Monday. Kimberly Nichols, 32, of Haverhill, was arrested at 2:57 p.m., Monday, at 355 Washington St. She was taken into custody on a warrant charging her with assault and battery. She was also charged with destruction of property over $250.
