Jay Patrick Huberdeau, 51, Assistant to Deputy Tax Collector

Jay Patrick Huberdeau, 51, of Amesbury, formerly of Haverhill, passed away Thursday, March 19, at his home after a lengthy illness.

Born in Haverhill, he was the son of Norman E. and Patricia J. (Lagasse) Huberdeau. He attended Haverhill public schools and was a graduate of Haverhill High School, class of 1982.

Huberdeau was employed as an assistant to the Deputy Tax Collector for the City of Haverhill for more than 15 years. He loved the ocean and taking rides to the beach on his motorcycle. A passion of his was that of being a gemologist. He designed and crafted fine jewelry and traded gems.

Besides his parents, he leaves his sister, Candace A. Devens and her husband, Peter, of Haverhill, a niece, Cayla Alexandrea Conigliaro, aunts, uncles and cousins. He also leaves his pet parrot, “Chicken,” his companion of almost 20 years.

Funeral services for Mr. Huberdeau are private. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home.
