Flora A. (Hall) Batchelder, 105, Haverhill’s Eldest Resident

Flora A. (Hall) Batchelder, 105, Haverhill’s eldest resident, died Thursday morning, March 19, at Penacook Place Nursing Home.

She was born in Haverhill, Sept. 26, 1909, daughter of the late Albert and Albina (Bacigalupo) Hall and was educated in the Haverhill school system. Batchelder was employed for several years as a fancy stitcher in the local shoe industry. She lived, for a period of time, in New Port Richey, Fla., before returning to Haverhill in 1988. While in Haverhill, Batchelder was a member of Sacred Hearts Church, Bradford.

She was the wife of the late William L. Batchelder who died in 1983 and sister of the late James Hall, John Hall, H. Albert Hall, J. Francis Hall and Kenneth Hall. Her survivors include nieces and nephews, Helene Sullivan of Bradford, Mary Duchmin of Haverhill, Ann Reusch of Bradford, Kathy Jo Yap of Hawaii, Kenneth Hall of Hawaii, Regine Labombard of Florida, Mary Bagley of Lynn and Thomas Priest of Amesbury, as well as numerous grandnieces and grand nephews, among whom is her devoted grandnephew, John D. Sullivan, III.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her visitation Friday, March 20, from 1 to 1:45 p.m., at  H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill, followed by a Funeral Service at 2 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Bradford.
