David B. Leslie, 74

David B. Leslie, 74, of Merrimac and formerly of Georgetown, died Friday evening, March 13, at Wood Mill Nursing Home, Lawrence.

He was born in Haverhill, Jan. 11, 1941, son of the late William M. and Bernice (Bourque) Leslie and was educated in the Haverhill school system. He was employed for several years at Letoile Roofing, Haverhill. An avid fisherman, Leslie was a member of the Haverhill Ridge Runners Club, Crescent Yacht Club and raced cars at the former Pines Speedway.

His survivors include a son, Jan Leslie of Salem, N.H.; daughter, Della Armstrong and her husband Wayne of Merrimac; two brothers, Michael Leslie and Mark Leslie both of Fla.; four sisters, Nancy Childers, Joan Bourque, Fern Leslie all of Fla., and Joyce Abbott of Haverhill;  granddaughter, Sarah Sannella of Nottingham, N.H.; and several nieces and nephews. Leslie was predeceased by his former wife, Mary E. (Muzrall) Smith and his daughter-in-law, Sylvia A. Hawkins Leslie.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his calling hours Thursday, March 19, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 106 Summer St., Haverhill, followed by a Funeral Service at 7:15 p.m. at the funeral Home. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in Rural Cemetery, West Newbury.
