J. Ferlandos Davis, 59, Former Navy Lieutenant

J. Ferlandos Davis, 59, of Haverhill, died Tuesday, March 3 at Merrimack Valley Hospice House after a brief illness.

He was born in New York, N.Y. Feb. 14, 1956 to the late James and Mary Thomas Davis. After graduating from high school in Osh Kosh, Wisc., Ferlandos earned his BA degree in economics from North Carolina Central University in Durham, N.C. while he was a member of the Navy ROTC. After college, he served aboard various Naval supply ships and was honorably discharged with the rank of lieutenant. Ferlandos later moved to Andover where he was employed for 29 years with the Raytheon Company as a supplier diversity manager. Ferlandos was an avid reader and enjoyed playing the guitar and riding his motorcycle.

He was a very loving and supportive husband and father and extended a charismatic spirit to his family and friends. He leaves his wife of 36 years , Willa (Hawkins) Davis; two daughters, Danielle Davis of Haverhill and Denise Davis (and fiancé, Matt Chacho) of Las Vegas, Nev.; four siblings, Robert Davis (Donna), Roderick Davis (Teresa) and Anne Bouknight of Durham, N.C. and Darius Davis (Dessolene) of Odenton, Md. and other extended family. The family will receive friends and guests at the H. L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St. Haverhill,  March 6 from 4 to 5 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 5 p.m. Burial and final rites will be in Durham, N.C. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Calvary Baptist Church, 13 Ashland St. Haverhill in honor of the Davis Family.
