Salem, N.H. Man Faces Theft, Assault and Drug Charges

A Salem, N.H. man is due to be arraigned in court after his arrest Tuesday night on shoplifting, assault and drug-related charges.

Haverhill Police report Elias Markos, 27, was arrested at 11:02 p.m., Tuesday, at the intersection of Winter and Main Streets. He is charged with shoplifting, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (a car) and possession of classes B and E substances.

In a separate arrest at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Alexandria Tobias, 33, of Haverhill, was charged with one count of shoplifting at CVS Pharmacy, 150 Lafayette Square.

In other police news, two people were arrested by Haverhill Police after a traffic stop Tuesday night in Monument Square. According to police, Randy Diaz, 31, of Lawrence and Jasmine Rodriguez, 24,. of Haverhill, were arrested at 7:10 p.m., Tuesday. Diaz is charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and operating an unregistered motor vehicle. Rodriguez, was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Lawrence Police charging her with disorderly conduct and being idle and disorderly.
