Maura Healey

Attorney General Maura Healey’s office wants area residents to be aware of consumer protections.

In observance of the 17th Annual National Consumer Protection Week, the office is presenting information from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., Thursday, March 19, at the Methuen Senior Center, 77 Lowell St., Methuen.

“The Attorney Generals Office is the people’s law firm and we are here to help arm Massachusetts residents with the information they need to make informed decisions about a host of consumer issues,” Healey said. “We are committed to engaging with residents and businesses across the Commonwealth, and National Consumer Protection Week is a great platform to remind people of the tools they have to safeguard their identity and finances, and make use of the services and assistance our office will continue to provide the public.”

The Greater Lawrence Community Action Council, Inc. Consumer Protection Program and the attorney general’s office will focus on scams and ID theft.

For consumer complaints, contact the Attorney Generals Public Inquiry & Assistance Center Hotline at (617) 727-8400 or file a complaint the Attorney General’s website www.mass.gov/ago.
