Bessie (Billis) Boudreau, 85, Bookkeeper

Bessie (Billis) Boudreau, 85, of Haverhill, passed away Sunday, Feb. 22,at the Holy family Hospital at Merrimack Valley after a brief illness.

Born, Vassiliki Billis, in Groveland, she was the daughter of Nicholas and Helen (Consoulou) Billis, she attended Groveland public schools and was a graduate of Groveland high School, class of 1946. She then attended the Commercial Training School in Trenton, N.J., and completed the certificate program in 1947.

Boudreau was a professional bookkeeper her entire career; she was employed by the United Shoe Machinery Co, the Bixby Boxtoe Co, Liberty Oil Co., all in Haverhill, and later the Internal Revenue Service in Andover.

Proud of her Greek heritage; she so loved family celebrations and holidays “Greek Style” and was happy to share her cooking skills with friends and family members. She was all about family gatherings and had an open door policy at her home and a place at her table.

A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she leaves her husband of 63 years, Phillip L. “Lou” Boudreau, of Haverhill; three loving children, Gregory L. Boudreau and his wife, Christine, David W. Boudreau, and Lynne A. Boudreau-Ingham and her husband, Michael, all of Haverhill; six cherished grandchildren Rachael A. Boudreau, Lee G. Boudreau and his wife, Karen, Michael W. Boudreau, Mark D. Boudreau, Erik M. Spero, and Danielle L. Ryan; a great grandson, A.J. Boudreau-Iuele; a brother, Costa Billis, of Groveland, a sister, Catherine Wildes, of Hudson, N.H., loving nieces, Pamela Burleigh, Joan Jacobsen, Cheryl Szulewski, Connie Williams, and nephews, James Billis, and Steve Billis.

Friends and family are respectfully invited to call on Wednesday, Feb. 25, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. Haverhill. Funeral services for Boudreau will be held Thursday morning at 11 in the Funeral Home. Burial will then follow in Riverview Cemetery, Main St. Groveland. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the charity of one’s choice.
