June (Hartson) Indelicato Doherty, 92, Seamstress

June (Hartson) Indelicato Doherty, 92, of Haverhill, widow of Santo Indelicato and Edward Doherty, died Thursday Feb. 19,  after a brief illness.

She was born in Barre, Vt., Feb. 13, 1923.

Doherty was an accomplished seamstress making most of her children’s clothing when they were young. She created many intricate, beautifully designed cross stitch pieces. She also loved to knit and crochet. She loved jigsaw and crossword puzzles, and was an avid reader who wrote poetry.

Doherty was predeceased by sons, Santo Jr and Stephen Indelicato and grandson, Marc Williams. She is survived by daughters, Marie Cobb and husband Steve of Claremont, N.H.; Donna Weeks and husband Ron of North Conway, N.H.; Clare Ryan and fiance Henry Gardner of Wilmington; Gemma Curran and husband William of Uxbridge; Lynda Wilder and husband Peter of Morrisville, Vt.; son, Frank Indelicato and wife Ellen of Wilmington, Vt. and daughter-in-law, Stephanie Indelicato of Port Angeles, Wash. She was a loving grandmother to Michael, Becky, Pam, Christina, Vanessa, Gina, Danielle, Lindsay, Adam, Sean, Candace, Nicholas, Eli, Steven and Elizabeth. Doherty also leaves 22 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild. She also left behind an extended step-family from her second marriage to Edward Doherty and many nieces and nephews. June was the last remaining survivor of seven siblings. She also provided a home for many foster children throughout the years.
