Scott H. Pearson, 66, Vietnam War Veteran

Scott H. Pearson, 66, of Haverhill, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, at Tufts Medical Center, Boston after being stricken suddenly at home.

He was born in Haverhill, June 12, 1948, son of Hugh Pearson of Haverhill and the late Shirley (Waitt) Pearson. A lifelong resident of the Ayers Village section of Haverhill, Pearson was educated in the Haverhill school system and graduate from Haverhill High School, class of 1967. During the Vietnam War he served in the United States Army Air Force. For more than 25 years he was employed as a lineman for Verizon, from where he retired. Pearson was a passionate skier and avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting and was a member of the NRA.

Besides his father, survivors include his wife of 20 years, Patricia C. “Patti” (Whitley) Pearson of Haverhill; a son, Keith Pearson and his wife Liz of Grafton; a daughter, Dawn O’Neill of Methuen; two sisters, Diane L. Gage of Hampton Falls, N.H., and Laurie Ocasio and her husband Larry of Summerville, S.C.; his mother-in-law, Lorraine Whitley of Salem, N.H.; stepchildren, Richard Ward of Haverhill, Stephanie Mason and her husband John of Haverhill; four grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; a step great granddaughter; a nephew, Justin W. Gage; as well as his pups, Dexter, Baxter and Sparticus and his cat Reesie.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. Arrangements by the H.L. Farmer and Sons Funeral Home.
