The city of Haverhill is asking residents for patience as it is focuses on snow removal efforts, especially on “very narrow streets where our public safety people have indicated that emergency vehicles cannot get up the street,” according to Mayor James J. Fiorentini.

The mayor’s office asks those with a street access emergency situation to contact the highway department.

“Once these areas have been cleared, we will continue to remove snow from other areas of the city. We ask for your patience as this will take several days. We must do the emergency areas first,” Fiorentini said.

Meanwhile in the town of Andover, crews will be removing snow from the municipal parking lots during the day Wednesday and snow removal from the downtown area begins at 9 p.m. tonight.

  1. I agree that this is an enormous amount of snow, but why aren’t the bridges between Haverhill and Bradford cleared? It only makes sense that these bridges should be cleared ASAP after every storm.
