Yet Another Storm Forces Closures Throughout Area

Another blast of winter in the Merrimack Valley has cancelled classes at most local schools.

Haverhill Public Schools, Whittier Regional Technical High School, Methuen Public Schools, Pentucket Regional schools, as well as Andover Public Schools and Timberlane Regional schools are closed Monday.

Northern Essex Community College has cancelled day classes and its offices are closed Monday.

Also, district and superior courts in Essex County and in other Massachusetts counties are closed Monday due to the weather.

In Haverhill, a regular snow emergency is in effect until 6 a.m., Tuesday.  Police ask residents to make every effort to remove your vehicles from the street tonight. |A police spokesperson said it is mandatory in the snow emergency areas downtown and a strong suggestion elsewhere.

Beginning Monday, Trash pickup in Haverhill will be subject to a one-day delay this week, according to Mayor James J. Fiorentini.

In Methuen, trash and recycling pickup will remain on schedule Monday. Methuen City Hall is closed Monday, according to Mayor Stephen N. Zanni. Also a winter parking ban will be in effect until 10 a.m., Wednesday, February 11, according to Methuen Police.

“NO vehicles will be permitted to park on any public way during any time to allow for snow removal operations. Any vehicles left on any public way during this snow storm is subject to ticketing and towing,” a Methuen Police spokesperson said.

Police also advise off street parking at the municipal lots on Lawrence St, Osgood St and at the Pelham Street Park & Ride are available for use.

In Andover, trash pickup is on a normal schedule and a parking ban remains in effect, according to Andover Police. Also Andover town offices are closed and all scheduled public meetings are cancelled for Monday, according to a Town of Andover spokesperson.

In Plaistow, N.H., a street parking ban is in effect, according to Plaistow Police and fire departments. Plaistow Town Hall is closed on Monday.

In Groveland, town offices and the public library are closed Monday.
