HAMPTON, N.H.–Alice (Koliopoulos) Papadopoulos, 97, formerly of Holiday, Fla., passed away Feb. 5. She was the wife of the late Epaminondas Papadopoulos to whom she was married 51 years.
Born in Greece May 6, 1917, Papadopoulos was the daughter of the late Dionysios and Angelike (Tsanganelias) Koliopoulos.
Educated in Haverhill, she graduated from Haverhill High School and then began a long career in the accounting department at Western Electric. Papadopoulos was very loyal to her faith. She was a member of the Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church in Haverhill, and after moving to Florida, she joined Holy Trinity Church in Clearwater, Fla.
Papadopoulos enjoyed traveling and she and her husband were fortunate to have been able to live in Greece and travel throughout the world.
The family wishes to thank her family, friends and caregivers; Dorothy Freeman, Cheryl Gale, Joanne Russman, Candy Laliberte and Shirley Sylvester.
Papadopoulos was the sister of the late Virginia E. Tikelis and Nicholas Ellis. She is survived by her nieces, Kristina T. Hanges and her husband Perry of Salem, N.H., Margaret Ellis and Diana Peper, both of Houston, Texas; and several grand nieces and nephews including her beloved Nicholas Hanges of Nashville, Tenn.
Friends are invited to the funeral Monday, Feb. 9 at 2:00 p.m. at Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church in Haverhill. Calling hours precede the funeral, at the church, from 1:30 to 2 p.m. Interment to follow at Linwood Cemetery.
