Marie L. (Daniels) Newvill,72, passed away, Tuesday, Feb. 3, at Mass General Hospital, Boston after a long battle with cancer.
She was born in Lawrence, Oct. 18, 1942, daughter of the late Stanley and Helen (Goodell) Daniels. She attended Haverhill High School and graduated from Ritner’s Floral Design School in Boston. In her early years she worked in the local shoe factory. Raising her children was one of her greatest joys, and she was happy to make a home for them and her loving husband. Besides caring for her family, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and her hobbies included baking, sewing, and floral arrangements and she loved helping others. She made friends everywhere she went and was loved by all who came in contact with her.
Newvill was the mother of the late James McQuade and is predeceased by her siblings Herbert Turner and Barbara Brockelbank. She was also predeceased by her granddaughters Christine Janvrin and Meaghan Demers. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Vernon Newvill of Haverhill, her children, Christina Janvrin-Fawcett and her husband Michael of Dover, N.H., Frederick Janvrin and his wife Jennifer of Somersworth, N.H., Judith Janvrin-Meleady and her husband Patrick of Somersworth, N.H., Barry Janvrin and his wife Maria of Dennison, Ohio., Curtis Newvill and his wife Marcy of Haverhill, Corry Newvill of Somersworth, N.H. and Mark Newvill and his wife Melissa of Bradford, Scott Williams and his fiancé Hope of Dover, N.H., a sister, Caroline Paul of Dover, N.H., 23 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are nvited to attend her calling hours Saturday, Feb. 7 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St. Haverhill. Spring burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Haverhill. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her name may be made to the Mass General Cancer Center, 55 Fruit Street, Boston, MA 02114.
