Eileen M. Lynch, 89, Former Telephone Worker

Eileen M. Lynch, 89, of Groveland and formerly of Danvers, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, at Nashoba Valley Medical Center in Ayer following a brief illness.

Born in Peabody on April 30, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Major William R. Lynch and Mary (O’Keefe) Lynch. She had resided in Danvers for many years before moving to Groveland 11 years ago. She was a graduate of Danvers High School.

Lynch was employed in the toll department of New England Telephone Company for many years before her retirement. She traveled extensively through most of the United States and Canada. She also traveled with her sister, Marie to visit their brother, James in Germany and also visited Ireland, England, Italy, France, Holland and Switzerland. She was also a member of the Danvers Historical Society.

Lynch is survived by several cousins and many friends on the North Shore and at Nichols Way in Groveland. She was also predeceased by her brother Col. James E. Lynch and her sister, Marie L. Lynch who died in May, 2014.

Her funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday in the Carmelite Monastery, 15 Mount Carmel Road, Danvers at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
