Another Snowstorm, Another Snow Day for Local Students

Haverhill Public Schools, Whittier Regional Technical High School, Methuen Public Schools, have cancelled classes for Tuesday. The Timberlane Regional School district announced a two hour delay to the start of classes on Tuesday.

Pentucket High School and offices will be closed on Tuesday due to a broken water main.  All other Pentucket Schools will be in session and opening two hours late due to snow removal.

Northern Essex Community College, day classes only, are cancelled and offices closed for Tuesday. The college will open at 5 p.m.

UMass Lowell is closed until 6 p.m. on Tuesday. Classes will resume at 6 p.m. A parking ban remains in effect.

Due to weather conditions, the city of Haverhill treasurer’s office will be accepting tax payments until Friday, February 6th at 4 p.m. without interest or penalty. According to Mayor James J. Fiorentini, the city is not allowed by law to extend the time to file for abatements or exemptions, they were still due by 4 p.m., Monday.

On Tuesday, the city will pick up Monday and Tuesday’s trash and recycling. No other days will be affected.

A reminder from Mayor James J. Fiorentini’s office: it is illegal to shovel, snow blow or plow snow into the city streets. “Our plows are working tirelessly to keep the streets clear for emergency personnel. We appreciate your assistance,” Fiorentini said.
