Two Hour Delay for Sandown Town Meeting Session Saturday

The latest blast of winter from Mother Nature will cause a delayed start on Saturday to a deliberative session of annual town meeting in Sandown, N.H.

The town of Sandown announced Friday the scheduled 8 a.m., Saturday start time has been moved to 10 a.m. at Sandown Town Hall, 320 Main Street, Sandown, N.H. This session will consist of “explanation, discussion, and debate of warrant articles number 2 through 21.”

A highlight of town meeting is warrant article 17, a proposed resolution requesting Sandown “stand with communities across the country to defend democracy from the corrupting influence of big money in our political system.”

If approved, the article would ask legislators to support a constitutional amendment to establish that “constitutional rights were established for the people, not corporations, unions or other artificial entities.” Also, the elected representatives along with American people are “guaranteed the right to safeguard fair elections through the authority to regulate political spending.”
