Unrelated Assault, Heroin Cases Keep Police Busy

A 30-year-old woman from Stoneham is facing assault-related charges from Haverhill Police after her arrest Sunday night in connection with a reported disturbance in the downtown industrial area on Locke Street.

Police report the woman, whose identity was not immediately available, was charged with two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery on a police officer and resisting arrest. The arrest occurred at 9:57 p.m., Sunday, at 40 Locke Street. She is due to be arraigned in Haverhill District Court.

In other police news, two people are due to be arraigned in Haverhill District court after their arrest for drug-related charges on Friday. Haverhill police report Elizabeth Kelly-Selke, 47, of Amesbury and Ronald Brunelle, 47. of Lowell, were both arrested at 400 Lowell Avenue, Westgate Plaza at 1:15 p.m., Friday for possession of heroin and being knowingly present where heroin is kept.

A Haverhill man will be arraigned after his arrest for shoplifting this weekend. Police report Carlos Esquival, 39 of Haverhill, was arrested for a single count of shoplifting at noon Saturday at Marshalls in Westgate Plaza, 400 Lowell Avenue.
