John Servetnick, 87, of Meriden, Conn., and formerly of Framingham and Hampton N.H. died in his sleep Thursday morning, Jan. 22, in Meriden, Conn.
He was born in Haverhill, Nov. 21, 1927, son of the late Simon “Si” and Rosanna (Reich) Servetnick. He was predeceased by a brother, Sumner Servetnick. Educated in the Haverhill Public school system, Servetnick earned his degree in civil engineering from Valparaiso University. During World War II he served in the United States Army and received a World War II Victory Medal as well as an Army of Occupation Medal. He was employed as a manufacturing representative many years, including work at RH Sturdy, RCA, Wang Labs and Cyberotics Robotic Company, which he was co founder. He also owned and ran J&S Associates, a small business consulting agency. Servetnick enjoyed computers, technology, reading and politics.
His survivors include his wife, Barbara of San Francisco; daughter, Cynthia, San Francisco; and a son, Mark and his wife Mary Servetnick of Meriden, Conn. He has two granddaughters, RosAnna and Juliana Servetnick also of Meriden, Conn.
Relatives and friends may attend his funeral Monday afternoon, Jan. 26, at 1:30, at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. Burial with Military Honors will be in Children of Israel Cemetery, Haverhill. Contributions in his memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association 10 Speen Street Framingham, MA 01701.
