Haverhill School Committee members Scott Wood and Maura Ryan-Ciardiello have taken on new leadership roles.
Wood was elected as school committee president and Ryan-Ciardiello as vice president.
Wood and Ryan-Ciardiello have already begun working on their positive changes, said Wood in a press release.
“They are ready to focus on and tackle the substance abuse epidemic, increasing student participation in after school activities, test scores, fiscal management and lowering class size. Special education will also be a top priority. As these changes in leadership occur, the sub committee assignments will also change. President Wood will be appointing his colleagues to different negotiating teams and sub committees. Both Wood and Ciardiello are eager to start the transition,” according to the press release.
