Police Arrest 19-Year-Old on Armed Robbery, Drug Charges

A Haverhill man was arrested overnight on armed robbery and drug-related charges in connection with a police investigation.

Haverhill Police report 19-year-old Soren Monclova of Haverhill was arrested at 12:05 a.m., Friday, at 2 Fountain St. He is charged with masked armed robbery and possession of a class D substance with intent to distribute. He was also taken into custody on an outstanding warrant charging him with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.

Monclova is due to be arraigned on the charges in Haverhill District Court. A Haverhill Police spokesperson was unavailable by deadline for further comment.

In other police news, a Merrimac man is due in court to face a shoplifting charge after his arrest by Haverhill Police Thursday night at Central Plaza, 2 Water Street. Haverhill Police report 47-year-old Aaron Paley of Merrimac was arrested at 8:20 p.m., Thursday, on a single count of shoplifting by concealment.

  1. How many times must a person be arrested and charged before he is locked up for the protection of law abiding citizens?????? Armed robbery? Does he have a VALID FID card? It is people like Monclova who have no regard for the rights of others who terrorize us and make the streets unsafe.
