Haverhill Pedestrian Dies in Peabody Crash

An investigation is under way by Massachusetts State Police into the death of a 33-year-old Haverhill woman struck by a motor vehicle early this morning on Route 1 in Peabody.

According to a state police spokesperson, troopers from the Danvers Barracks responded at about 12:18 a.m., today, to a reported motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian on route 1 northbound near Red’s Tavern in Peabody.

According to investigators, the 33-year old female victim from Haverhill was walking in the left travel lane when a 2012 Honda CRV traveling northbound struck her. She was transported to Lahey Medical Center where she was later pronounced dead. The driver, a 51-year-old male from Ipswich, was not injured. State police were assisted on scene by Peabody Police and Fire and Mass DOT. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The crash remains under investigation with assistance from the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and Crime Scene Services Section.
