Cateria Ann “Kathy” Torres, 28, died Dec. 28 after a short illness.
Torres was born in Pennsylvania, raised primarily in Lawrence, and lived in Haverhill. She came to live with her “momma Feb” and “daddy Dave” in November, 2007, and graduated from the Lawrence School for Exceptional Studies in May, 2008. She attended Coastal Connections in Amesbury, and more recently, Opportunity Works, Newburyport. She enjoyed her day program, music, dance, singing, church, swimming, manicures and pedicures, reading her Bible, coloring, movies, amusement rides, the beach, boating, cook outs, friends and family.
Kathy was baptized and confirmed Catholic and was active in the RCIA program at Saints Mary and Joseph Parish in Salem, N.H. Most recently, she performed as one of the Eleven Singing Angels in the play, The Unique 12 Days of Christmas, at the Salem, N.H. High School. A funeral mass will be offered at Saints Mary and Joseph Parish, St. Joseph Church, 40 Main St., Salem, N.H., Friday, Jan. 9, at 9 a.m. Donations in her memory may be made to Play Among the Stars, P.O. Box 2222, Salem, NH 03079.
