Justin Lee “Danny” Mimms, 32, of Haverhill passed away unexpectedly at the Holy Family Hospital at Merrimack Valley after being stricken ill suddenly.
Born in Decatur, Ill, he was raised and educated in Haverhill, the son of J. Lee and Laurie A. (Greeley) Mimms, he attended Haverhill Public Schools and was a graduate of Haverhill High School, class of 2000.
“Danny” as he was known was a lovable soul with a devilish grin and a huge heart. He enjoyed volunteering at the Clubhouse on Locust Street, he loved people and cherished his family gatherings, socializing with his brothers and sisters. He possessed a certain type of innocence with a charming sense of humor. When he was able to work he was employed as a laborer in the landscape industry.
Besides his parents, he leaves his siblings, Joshua L. Mimms and his partner, Jessica, of Manchester, N.H., Jerome L. Mimms and his wife, Rhiannon, also of Manchester, N.H., Jennifer L. Mimms and her partner, Evan, of New Bedford, Jamie L. Mimms, of Haverhill, and Jordan L. Mimms and his wife Rebecca, of Merrimack, N.H., and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are respectfully invited to call on Saturday afternoon, from noon until 2 p.m. at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. Haverhill. Funeral services will follow immediately at 2 in the funeral home. Burial is private. Memorial donations may be made in his name to the Dana Farber Cancer Research Institute, PO Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168.
