Fiorentinis Deliver Christmas Message from Home

A holiday message of reflection and reaching out from Haverhill Mayor James J. Fiorentini.

In a video, Fiorentini, accompanied by his wife Martha, said Christmas is a time for family, a time to celebrate “our many blessings as citizens of this great country, and the city.” However, he adds that he knows “not everyone is as blessed or as fortunate,” and that for some, this time of year can also be “a time of loneliness or discouragement for others.”

“Let’s remember to reach out to offer others a helping hand. If you have the time, visit a nursing home, give to the charity of your choice, but just reach out to someone who might be lonely this holiday season. Such kindness and charitable acts engender hope. Hope that better days lie ahead is a powerful tool for healing, and hope makes progress possible. Our holiday wish for you and your loved ones is a safe, joyful and blessed holiday season, and a peaceful and happy new year,” Fiorentini said.

In closing, Fiorentini said he looks forward to ringing in the new year with “optimism and pride.”
