Harold Evans, 94, Former Western Electric Accountant

Harold Evans, 94, formerly of Haverhill, Andover, Newton, N.H. and Barefoot Bay, Fla., passed away Dec. 4, at the Palms of Pasadena Hospital in South Pasadena, Fla. He was the husband of the late Arlene E. (Burba) Evans.

Born in Haverhill Nov. 9, 1920, he was the son of the late Harry and Sara A. (Chambers) Evans.

Following his graduation from Haverhill High School, Class of 1938, Evans began a long and distinguished finance career that spanned 35 years. He worked as an auditor for Dunlop Tires, and as accounting manager for the former Western Electric, AT&T and Lucent before retiring in 1982. He was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church of Haverhill, Loyal Order of Moose, Sabastian River, Fla., Lodge #1767, and Legion #197.

Evans is survived by his daughter, Patricia Evans White and her husband Robert of Boston; brother-in-law and his wife, Ronald and Annette Burba of Salem, N.H. Several nieces and nephews to include Sandra Szczerbin and her partner Leslie Voegtly of Patterson, Calif., Roanne and Stephen Copley and family of Windham, N.H.; Veronica Burba of Mass.; Robin Landers and family; Randi and Allan ll McQuarrie and family; Renee Burba, all from Salem, N.H.; Rachelle & Joseph Michalowski and Ian Clark of Florida; and Russell Burba of Mass. He was the brother of the late Charles Elmer Harry “Chink” Evans and Arthur Glenn Denning Evans.

Interment at the Lithuanian Cemetery in Haverhill will be private. Donations in Evans’ name may be made to Disabled American Veterans, P.O.
