Haverhill Police are investigating an overnight burglary at a convenience store in Haverhill’s Mount Washington neighborhood.
Police told WHAV officers responded at 3:41 this morning to an incident at DJ’s Variety, 363 Washington Street. According to police, access was gained through a window which investigators found pushed open. An undetermined quantity of cigarettes was taken from the business. The preliminary investigation did not indicate if anything else was taken. Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to contact Haverhill Police.
In other police news, a Haverhill man is due to be arraigned in court after his arrest Tuesday night on a weapon-related charge. Haverhill Police report 21-year-old Julio Cruz of Haverhill was taken into custody at 10:30 p.m., Tuesday, at 375 Washington Street. He is charged with possession of an electric stun gun. No further details were available.
