Shirley M. Gallant, 90

Shirley M. Gallant, 90, of Haverhill passed away Friday, Dec. 12, at her home.

Gallant was born in Haverhill and was raised in Haverhill and Methuen. She was a member of the Ayers Village United Methodist Church. For many years, Gallant worked minding children in the Haverhill area and also worked as a seamstress. She loved to knit and crochet and was a loyal Red Sox fan. Shirley loved doing arts, crafts and puzzles.

The daughter of Herbert and Alice Weinhold and the widow of Stanley R. Gallant, her family members include her son, David W. and his wife, Kathi Gallant of Haverhill and her daughter, Diane A. Moulton of Haverhill. She also leaves her grandchildren, Keith and his wife JoAnn Gallant and Dawn and her husband, Allen Rudis. She leaves five great grandchildren, Cameron, Sydney and Kallie Rudis and Madison and Ryan Gallant and she also leaves her sister and “best friend,” Dorothy Barnes of Haverhill and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are welcome to visit on Thursday, Dec. 18, from 10 to noon at The Charles F. Dewhirst Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen. Funeral services will be at noon, Thursday, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen. A special thank you from Shirley’s family to her caregiver Martha Lopez.
