A Haverhill man was arrested by police Sunday on a charge of rape of a child following an investigation.
Haverhill Police report 30-year-old Joyce LaFortune of Haverhill was arrested at 7:20 a.m., Sunday, at 2 Lamoille Avenue, on a warrant charging him with rape of a child. He is due to be arraigned in Haverhill District Court.
In other police news, three local people, including a Lawrence woman, are due in court to face drunk driving charges from Haverhill Police in separate arrests over the weekend.
Police report 50-year-old Darla Lucier of Haverhill was arrested at 6:15 p.m., Sunday, at 74 Jefferson Street. She is charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor, and leaving the scene of an accident.
At 2:30 a.m., Saturday, Haverhill Police arrested 25-year-old Diana M. Romero of Lawrence on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor, and a marked lanes violation. The arrest occurred at 21 Wingate Street.
At 8:35 p.m., Friday, on South Elm Street, police arrested 56-year-old Deborah Deblois of Haverhill on charges of operating under the influence of liquor, and a marked lanes violation.
