Edith (Dow) Nason, 91

Edith (Dow) Nason, 91, a longtime resident of Haverhill, passed away Thursday, Dec. 11 at  Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital, Haverhill.

She was born in Haverhill, Sept. 8, 1923 the only daughter of the late Mabel (Kingman) and Frank Dow. Nason was educated in the Haverhill school system and graduated from Newburyport High School. She furthered her education at McIntosh Business School thanks to a scholarship she received from the Polio Foundation. For many years Edie was employed in the medical field and most recently worked at Whittier Rehab Hospital and Bethany Homes. Nason enjoyed playing the organ, painting, reading, playing scrabble and cards with her many friends, and coordinating social events.

She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Phillip Nason, who passed away in 1999 and a brother, Herbert Dow. Nason is survived by her daughter, Pamela and her husband Frank Baggs of Newburyport, a son, Scott Nason of Salisbury, Grandchildren David Baggs of Boston and Jennifer Baggs of Belmont, several nieces and nephews as well as many friends.

A public memorial service will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are by the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Homes, Haverhill and Bradford. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to Friends of Bethany, 10 Phoenix Row Haverhill, MA 01830.
