Grovelander Seeks Relief from Haverhill Water Conditions

The Haverhill City Council on Tuesday considers a Groveland property owner’s request that the city release its rights regarding water flow from the property near Johnson’s Pond, a backup drinking water source.

According to city documents, property owner Dorna Caskie is requesting the city execute a release deed for its interests in property on Washington Street, Groveland, near the Boxford town line. The proposed action would “change language” of a property deed which allows the city to regulate “flowage or any other obligation to observe the rules and regulations of the water department of the City of Haverhill.”

A letter to the city council from Deputy Haverhill Public Works Director Robert E. Ward, water division Superintendent, makes no objection to “non-monetary consideration.”

The Haverhill City Council meets at 7 p.m., Tuesday, in council chambers at Haverhill City Hall.
