Laurie G. Gondolfo, 78, Korean War Veteran

Laurie G. Gondolfo, 78, of Haverhill, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 3, at his home, surrounded by his family.

Born in Gardner, he was the son of Bastian and Virginia (Harrod) Gandolofo. Moving to Haverhill as a young child, he attended Haverhill public schools and was a graduate of Haverhill High School, class of 1954. A Korean War Veteran, he proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1955 until being honorably discharged in 1958.

Gondolfo was employed as a bookbinder for the Bay State Bindery Inc. in Boston for more than 35 years. An avid bowler, he played in local bowling leagues for many years. He enjoyed watching the Red Sox and New England Patriots. A collector of Disney memorabilia, Mickey and Minnie held a special place in his heart.

A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he is survived by his wife of 53 years, Margaret C. (Emde) Gondolfo, a son, Laurie G. Gondolfo Jr., two daughters, Rosemarie Gondolfo and Laura Laing, all of Haverhill, five grandchildren, Michelle Morris, Tanya Morris, Edward Morris, Erica Laing, and Ashley Laing, six great grandchildren, two brothers, Raymond Gondolfo, of Lawrence, and Donald Gondolfo and his partner, Sherri Garnache, of Haverhill and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Lorraine Emery.

Friends and family are  invited to attend a memorial service Monday, Dec. 8, at 10 a.m. in the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. (route 125) Haverhill. Burial will follow with Military Honors at the Veteran’s Section of the Linwood Cemetery, Mill St. Haverhill.
