Miss Italy, Amanda Luciano, and the Victor Emanuel Lodge #1646 Sons of Italy Drum and Bugle Corps will be on hand next week to dedicate the renamed Paul C. Rogers Family-Carnevale Funeral Home.

The Italian-themed public event takes place at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 13, said Lawrence A. Carnevale, who has an ownership interest along with Paul C. Rogers Jr. and Joshua J. Rogers of Haverhill. Carnevale said he is committed to carrying on the Scatamacchia Funeral Home tradition of serving the Italian-American community, among other ethnicities. The funeral homes merged in 2011.

Haverhill Mayor James J. Fiorentini and members of the Merrimack Valley Chamber of Commerce will cut the ribbon during the ceremony. Luciano was crowned Miss Italy in 2012. The Sons of Italy Drum & Bugle Corps was established in 1939 and is the only Sons of Italy Drum and Bugle organization in the United States.

The Paul C. Rogers Funeral Home began as the Leonard A. Tilton Funeral Home in 1919 and moved to 334 Main St. in 1933. The building was built in 1870 and is the last remaining Victorian home in Monument Square, Carnevale said. Rogers bought the business in 1948. Besides Scatamacchia, the home also absorbed the Murphy & Curtin Funeral Home.
