It’s #GivingTuesday; Support Non-Profit WHAV with Membership

Have you heard the news…or read it?

First, there was Black Friday, followed by Small Business Saturday and CyberMonday. Now, today is #GivingTuesday, “a global day dedicated to giving back,” according to organizers.

GT_2014Web-Banner_250x250_3-150x150WHAV has become the area’s “go to” source for local news. In fact, WHAV is the only Haverhill-based news source.

Earlier this year, WHAV greatly expanded its local news operation. Both on-air and online, WHAV provides more local stories, more “exclusives” and more tenacious reporting than anyone else. While others are cutting back on local coverage and putting up “pay walls,” WHAV News is provided completely free.

Even though the news is given away free, it still costs money to investigate, report and distribute. That’s why your membership is vital. Can you help with your contribution of $25, $100 or more? Donate online by clicking here.

WHAV is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit, educational organization. It relies on the generosity of people like you to ensure residents, voters and businesses find out what they must know to make decisions and fully participate in local democracy.

The radio station, which traces its roots back to 1947, is heard on AM radio, the Internet and seven public access cable television stations. The Federal Communications Commission has also tentatively selected WHAV to receive an FM license. Your membership contribution also helps ensure engineering, legal and construction costs are covered to make this a reality.

This is a critical time for local news. Please make your membership contribution today!
