Mary Lenna (Coacher) Leonardi, 81

Mary Lenna (Coacher) Leonardi, 81, of East Kingston and formerly of Haverhill, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, at Exeter Hospital, Exeter, N.H.

She was born in Philadelphia, PA, Jan. 7, 1933, daughter of Sanford and Edna (Mullen) Coacher. Educated in Philadelphia, Leonardi graduated from Villa Maria Academy and earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Immaculata College, Immaculata, Penn. After graduating from college, she was employed as a High School English teacher in Philadelphia. Leonardi and her husband resided in Europe for three years, and then from 1963 to 1967 lived in Vermont while her husband served his residency. They moved to Haverhill in 1967 and lived there for more than 40 years until moving to East Kingston, N.H. While in East Kingston she was a parishioner at St. Anne’s Church, Hampstead, N.H.

Her survivors include her husband of 58 years, Dr. Henry B. Leonardi of East Kingston, N.H., children, Henry B. “Rick” Leonardi Jr. and his wife Cynthia Kellogg of Philadelphia, Penn.; Elizabeth and her husband John Wiseman III of Savannah, Georgia; Daniel S. and his wife Ana Leonardi of Richmond, Calif.; Joan and her husband Myron Monson of Kenmore, Wash.; eight grandchildren, Ann Leonardi, Henry B. Leonardi III; John Wiseman IV, David Wiseman; Alyssa Leonardi, Mary Leonardi; Brian Monson and James Monson; nieces and nephews, and a host of friends and neighbors who will miss her dearly.

Her funeral service was held on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 29, at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 106 Summer St., Haverhill, and officiated by Fr. Marc R. Gagne, Pastor of St. Anne Church, Hampstead, N.H. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to the National Audubon Society, 225 Varick St., New York, NY 10014, because she loved the birds at her porch feeders so much, or to Immaculata University, 1145 King Rd., Immaculata, PA, 19345.
