Use of a Bat and Brass Knuckles Brings Charles St. Arrests

Two Haverhill juveniles are facing assault charges in connection with an alleged attack at a home on Charles Street Wednesday night.

Haverhill Police report a 17-year-old male and a 17-year-old female were arrested at 9 p.m., Wednesday. The male juvenile was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (a bat), while the female juvenile was charged with assault and battery to a witness with a dangerous weapon (brass knuckles). An investigation is ongoing.

The two suspects are due to be arraigned during a juvenile court session at Lawrence District Court.

In other police news, a 19-year-old woman from central Massachusetts was arrested in Haverhill Wednesday afternoon on a charge of assault with a dangerous weapon in connection with a disturbance on South Warren Street. Haverhill Police report 19-year-old Maggie Butrym of Barre was taken into custody at 3:15 p.m., Wednesday.
