Haverhill Man Faces Statutory Rape Charge

A Haverhill man is accused of rape against a minor and also faces indecent assault charges in connection with a police investigation.

Police report 37-year-old Eli S. Torres of Haverhill was arrested at his home shortly after 10 a.m., Monday, on charges of statutory rape and indecent assault and battery on a child. He was also taken into custody on an outstanding warrant charging him with indecent assault and battery and threatening. No further details are available.

In other police news, three people, including an Amesbury man, are facing shoplifting and other theft-related charges following two separate incidents in just over one hour Monday at Central Plaza, 2 Water Street, Haverhill.

Police report 30-year-old Sheena Wilson of Haverhill was arrested at 2:20 p.m., Monday on a charge of shoplifting by concealing, and also taken into custody on an outstanding warrant for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, plus an inspection sticker violation.

In a separate incident at 3:30 p.m., police arrested 29-year-old Ryan Donahue of Amesbury, and 28-year-old Ryan Messina of Haverhill. Each was charged with a single count of shoplifting. Donahue was also taken into custody on three outstanding warrants for charges including shoplifting, credit card fraud, larceny over $250 and being a fugitive from justice. All three suspects are due to be arraigned in Haverhill District Court.
