An “adopt-a-family” winter clothing and toy drive is under way at a Haverhill elementary school to benefit about 50 needy children during the holiday season.
The Moody School Parent Teacher Organization and staff have “adopted” 35 families, with 50 children among them, according to a flyer distributed by the Haverhilll Public Schools. The school is collecting toys and clothing, new and unwrapped, until Dec. 12. They ask those with the means to help to pick up a mitten from a “giving tree” at the school’s lobby and to return it with their donated gift.
Items may be left at Moody School, 59 Margin St.
